How do we compare composite decking brands?
We haven’t lab-tested these boards, so we give no star ratings or test scores. We compare what each manufacturer publishes: how the board is built, its sizes, joist centres, warranty and whether a dated price exists. Products are listed A to Z, and a seller can’t pay to move up. Our methodology has the details.
What do the UK boards we’ve verified look like?

“Not published” means the page gave no figure. Warranty years are the longest residential figure shown, and conditions vary: Cladco’s ProDeck table shows 10 plus 5 years where the extra five need its own subframe, and Trex UK’s page says 50 years for Transcend while retailers list 25 residential, so confirm with Trex.
What do the makers say about themselves?
- Millboard describes its boards as resin and mineral with no wood. A Cladco listing quotes a highly slip-resistant Lastane surface and a “10/12-year or 25-year” warranty without saying which applies, and the board is fixed with Durafix screws, not clips.
- Ecoscape says most of its ranges carry 20 plus years, with 25 on Timbex, Forma and Grande, 15 on Linea and 20 on Clarity for residential use. The warranty is valid if you register within 90 days and use its fixings.
- Eva-Last’s brochure describes Apex as reinforced bamboo foamed PVC composite, rated Euroclass B, with warranty conditional on correct installation.
- Trex UK says warranties range from 25 to 50 years and links separate documents for decking, railing and fasteners.
We couldn’t read Composite Prime, NewTechWood UK or Fiberon UK, so we publish nothing about them.
What is missing everywhere?
Numeric slip and fire values for composite boards. Only the aluminium datasheet we read published slip numbers. Ask the maker for the test report and the standard it used before you rely on a slip or fire claim. See non-slip decking.
Where do you buy?
Cladco’s delivery page lists £192 under £1,200, £96 over £1,200 and free over £1,800 for England and Wales, with free sample packs. eDecks says free delivery over £250. Jewson lists Piranha, Alchemy Habitat plus and Composite Prime with click and collect from 400 branches, with prices after you pick a branch. The suppliers page has more, and the prices page has per m² figures.
Questions
What is the best composite decking in the UK?
We don't pick one, because we haven't tested any board. Compare warranty length and conditions, joist centres, whether the board is capped, and what you'll pay per m². The table below lists what each maker or seller publishes.
Where can I buy composite decking?
Specialist online sellers such as Cladco and eDecks, builders' merchants such as Jewson, and the makers' own distributors. See the supplier page for delivery terms we have checked.
Which brand has the longest warranty?
On the pages we read, Trex UK says its warranties range from 25 to 50 years, Eva-Last lists 30 years on Apex and 25 on Infinity, and Millboard and Envirobuild's Frontier list 25. Read the conditions: Cladco's boards, for example, only carry their extra years on Cladco's own subframe.
